Berthold provides the 666R013 absorbance reference plate from Hellma GmbH & Co KG as reference material to check the photometric accuracy of our absorbance microplate readers, including the built-in reader of the Crocodile 5-in-one miniWorkstation. The reference plate has the same dimensions as a microplate with 96 wells and a diameter of 6.6 mm per window (H 13.0 x D 127 x L 85.5 mm). For the five inserted neutral density glasses (columns 3-12) the absorbance value can be measured for 16 windows. A further 16 windows are without glass (columns 1+2) and are used as a reference. The neutral density glasses have nominal values between 0.25 and 2.5 OD.

The five neutral density glass filters have different nominal absorbance values, allowing you to check the linearity of your absorbance scale by plotting the absorbance values measured for each wavelength against the measurement values on the calibration certificate in a diagram.
