Types of microplates
Microplates (also known as microtiter plates) are used to process many samples in a short time. The microplate well is part of the optical system in plate reading. Therefore, the microplates used need to be high quality and must match certain criteria. The criteria include the reflectiveness of the surfaces influencing the background readings as well as the efficiency of the light transmission to the instrument´s detector. Another important fact is the microplates ability to block light between wells. We offer the following types of microplates:
24-well plates
Our 24-well plates are sterile and cell culture-treated, with lid, and they come individually packed. They are available in 2 colours:
- 41081: white with clear bottom. Suitable for luminescence. Using a white adhesive foil is recommended for best performance.
- 41082: black with clear bottom. Suitable for fluorescence and absorbance. Using a black adhesive foil is recommended for best performance.
White 96-well microplates
Our white 96-well microplates are especially optimized for luminescence measurement. They are available in the following variants:
- 23300: white 96-well microplates, standard. Recommended for Luminescence, BRET, AlphaScreen®, TRF and HTRF®.
- 60705: white 96-well microplates with clear bottom. Suitable for luminescence, BRET and absorbance. Using a white adhesive foil is recommended for best performance in luminescence and BRET.
- 51838: sterile, cell culture-treated, with lid, individually packed white 96-well microplates. Recommended for Luminescence, BRET, AlphaScreen®, TRF and HTRF®.
- 24910: sterile, cell culture-treated, with lid, individually packed white 96-well microplates with clear bottom. Suitable for luminescence.
Black 96-well plates
Our black 96-well microplates have been tested to ensure optimal performance in fluorescence measurement. They are available in the following variants:
- 23302: black 96-well microplates, standard. Recommended for Fluorescence, FRET, TRF and FP; suitable also for HTRF®.
- 55008: black 96-well microplates, with white wells. Recommended for luminescence and BRET; suitable also for TRF, AlphaScreen® and HTRF®.
- 60706: black 96-well microplates, with clear bottom. Recommended for Absorbance; suitable also for Fluorescence, FRET and FP. Using a black adhesive foil is recommended for best performance in fluorescence, FRET and FP.
- 51839: sterile, cell culture-treated, with lid, individually packed black 96-well microplates. Recommended for Fluorescence, FRET, TRF and FP; suitable also for HTRF®.
- 38840: sterile, cell culture-treated, with lid, individually packed black 96-well microplates with clear bottom. Recommended for Absorbance; suitable also for Fluorescence and FRET.
White 384-well microplates
Our white 384-well microplates have been tested to provide the best performance in luminescence, BRET, AlphaScreen® and HTRF®, and are suitable also for TRF.
