The antennas do not come into contact with the bulk material and for this reason they are not subject to any wear and tear. The measurement set-up with horn antennas is possible on conveyor belts and chutes. It is also possible to compensate varying material heights by means of a separate height sensor (e.g. ultrasonic). In the case of varying bulk densities, a radiometric area-weight compensation should be added.
